A detail

Our tour begins very early in the morning, with passengers being picked up directly from their accommodations near the historic center of Cusco to begin the journey to Challacancha. From there, you’ll take your first steps along an ancient Inca canal, surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes until you reach Soraypampa. There, the stunning campsite awaits, located at 3,900 meters above sea level (12,795 feet), a dreamlike refuge nestled between the imposing snow-capped peaks of Salkantay and Humantay.

After enjoying a hearty lunch and regaining your energy, you’ll hike to the famous Humantay Lake. Upon reaching 4,200 meters above sea level (13,780 feet), you’ll be awestruck by the turquoise blue of its waters, protected by snow-capped summits. The day will end magically as you return to camp to share a delicious dinner under a blanket of stars, while listening to stories about Inca astronomy, before sleeping in the comfort of a transparent igloo with a direct view of the constellations.

The next day, after a nutritious breakfast that will give you the necessary energy, you will face the challenge of reaching the highest point of the route. You will ascend the Salkantaypampa plain and navigate the curves of the famous “Road of the Seven Serpents” until you conquer the Salkantay Pass, at 4,630 meters above sea level (15,190 feet). At the summit, you will enjoy the moment to capture incredible photographs of the glacier and feel the immensity of the mountain.

The return will be a fascinating descent over rocky terrain from where you will see, in the distance, a mystical “stone forest” covered in snow. After a final lunch at the camp to celebrate their achievement, they will walk just 30 minutes further to board their transport. Finally, they will complete their return journey in the city of Cusco, where our services will conclude.
