Piura – Full Day to the Tumbes Mangroves from Piura

This place is known for being an amazing floating forest where the river meets the sea, the area of origin of the famous black clams, and its ecosystem is the only home of the Tumbes crocodile. Our full-day tour begins with passenger pickup directly from the comfort of your accommodation (located in the Órganos, Vichayito, Pocitas, and Máncora beach areas). We will travel north to the Tumbes Department, making our first stop at the beautiful Punta Sal beach, followed by a stop at Zorritos beach to enjoy the coastal scenery. We will then continue by land to Puerto Pizarro, where we will board a traditional boat—equipped with life jackets—to navigate the stunning Pacific Ocean mangroves.

During this excursion, we will visit “Isla del Amor” (Island of Love), disembarking to walk along its soft sands and take spectacular photos where the forest meets the sea. Next, we will head to “Isla de las Aves” (Bird Island), an impressive natural sanctuary where—from the boat—we will observe thousands of exotic birds gathered in the trees at close range, such as the famous magnificent frigatebird, notable for its red chest (a species also found in the North Pacific and the Galápagos Islands). Continuing the tour, we will visit the Tumbes crocodile breeding center, a stop that allows us to see the majestic Tumbes crocodile up close—a unique and protected species in the region. Finally, we will begin the return journey to your accommodations, arriving at approximately 20:00.
