Our half day tour begins with passenger pickup directly from the comfort of your accommodation (located in the Órganos, Vichayito, Pocitas, and Máncora beach areas) and a transfer to the Los Órganos pier. Once there, we will board a covered speedboat for a 90-minute cruise on the Pacific Ocean, where we will enjoy the thrill of spotting humpback whales and capturing photos of their spectacular breaches. Next, we will head to the El Ñuro area to put on life jackets and enjoy the incredible experience of swimming alongside friendly sea turtles in their natural habitat. Throughout the trip, we will enjoy drinks on board, and our team will capture the best photos and videos using GoPro cameras. Finally, after disembarking at the pier, we will board our return transport to your accommodations, arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Location: Los Órganos Pier and El Ñuro Cove, Talara Province, Piura Department.
Distance from Lima to Piura: 1 hour 50 minutes (Arrival airport: Talara). By bus: approx. 16 hours.
Maximum elevation on the route: 3 meters above sea level (coastal zone and beach resorts at sea level).
Climate: Tropical, semi-arid, and sunny year-round. Average annual temperature: 26ºC to 28ºC.
SUITABILITY: Suitable for the whole family. Minors must be accompanied by an adult when entering the water to swim with the turtles.
OPERATING SEASON: Valid only from July 15 to October 31 (humpback whale migration period).
IMPORTANT: Not suitable for individuals with severe mobility issues or recent surgeries due to the boarding process and the boat's movement on the open sea. Activity subject to maritime conditions.
Departure time: 06:00. Hotel pickup (valid only for hotels in Órganos, Vichayito, Pocitas, and Máncora).
Return time: 10:30 (departure from the pier back to accommodations).

Day 1Description of the activities

06:00: Pick-up of passengers from the comfort of their accommodation for the start of the tour and departure towards the Los Órganos dock.
07:00: Boarding at the Los Órganos dock to board the covered two-motor speedboat, here you will be given life jackets and a safety induction.
07:30: Start of the open sea navigation through the Pacific Ocean to enjoy the sighting of humpback whales and capture photos of their jumps.
09:00: Transfer to the El Ñuro area to experience swimming with sea turtles in their natural habitat and taking photos with GoPro.
10:00: Disembarkation at Los Órganos dock and free time to change from wet clothes to dry clothes.
10:30: Transfers to your accommodations. End of our services.

What is the best time to visit this destination?

This tour is seasonal and operates only during the whale migration season, from July 15 to October 31. August and September are the most recommended months, as they record the highest number of sightings on the open sea.

What important details should I know about the tour?

Important information regarding the van and the speedboat:

-To ensure the itinerary is followed, there is a maximum 15-minute grace period before the ground journey begins.

-Seats on the vehicle and the boat are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis; passengers must return in the same seat they occupied at the start of the tour.

-The speedboat operates at a maximum capacity regulated by port authorities. During the trip, wearing a life jacket is mandatory, and passengers must follow the captain’s instructions to ensure the safety of everyone on board.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Up to 48 hours before the tour starts and/or subject to availability. However, if you are from a neighboring country or any other part of the world, we recommend booking at least 7 days in advance, or 1 month if your arrival date falls during peak season in Piura.

Should I bring an identity document during the tour?

Yes, it is essential for all participants to carry a valid ID card, Alien Registration Card, or Passport during all the tours included in the package.
