Our half day tour begins with passenger pickup directly from the comfort of your accommodation (located in the Órganos, Vichayito, Pocitas, and Máncora beach areas) and a transfer to the Los Órganos pier. Once there, we will board a covered speedboat for a 90-minute cruise on the Pacific Ocean, where we will enjoy the thrill of spotting humpback whales and capturing photos of their spectacular breaches. Next, we will head to the El Ñuro area to put on life jackets and enjoy the incredible experience of swimming alongside friendly sea turtles in their natural habitat. Throughout the trip, we will enjoy drinks on board, and our team will capture the best photos and videos using GoPro cameras. Finally, after disembarking at the pier, we will board our return transport to your accommodations, arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m.

Location: Los Órganos Pier and El Ñuro Cove, Talara Province, Piura Department.
Distance from Lima to Piura: 1 hour 50 minutes (Arrival airport: Talara). By bus: approx. 16 hours.
Maximum elevation on the route: 3 meters above sea level (coastal zone and beach resorts at sea level).
Climate: Tropical, semi-arid, and sunny year-round. Average annual temperature: 26ºC to 28ºC.
SUITABILITY: Suitable for the whole family. Minors must be accompanied by an adult when entering the water to swim with the turtles.
OPERATING SEASON: Valid only from July 15 to October 31 (humpback whale migration period).
IMPORTANT: Not suitable for individuals with severe mobility issues or recent surgeries due to the boarding process and the boat's movement on the open sea.
Departure time: 06:00. Hotel pickup (valid only for hotels in Órganos, Vichayito, Pocitas, and Máncora).
Return time: 10:30 (departure from the pier back to accommodations).

Day 1Description of the activities

09:00: Passenger pickup from your accommodation to start the tour and depart for the Tumbes region.
10:00: Arrival at the Punta Sal beach resort to take photos and admire the seascape.
11:00: Brief stop at the traditional Zorritos beach to enjoy the scenery before heading further into Tumbes province.
12:00: Arrival at the Puerto Pizarro pier to board a local boat equipped with life jackets.
13:30: Start of the boat tour through the Tumbes Mangroves (Pacific Ocean), visiting Isla del Amor—where you will have time for lunch (all-inclusive package)—followed by Isla de las Aves to observe local wildlife.
15:30: Guided disembarkation to visit the Tumbes crocodile breeding center and learn about the conservation of this species.
17:00: Return to the pier to begin the drive back along the coast.
19:30: Transfer back to your accommodations.
21:30: Approximate arrival at your accommodations. End of services.

What is the best time to visit this destination?

The department of Piura can be visited all year round. We recommend visiting between the months of April and December, as it offers very stable weather, completely clear skies, and sunny days ideal for enjoying the beach.

What important details should I know about the tour?

Regarding the van, please note the following:

-To ensure the itinerary is followed, there is a maximum 15-minute grace period before departure.

-Seats in the vehicle and on the boat are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis; passengers must return to the same seat they occupied at the start of the tour.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Up to 48 hours before the tour starts and/or subject to availability. However, if you are from a neighboring country or any other part of the world, we recommend booking at least 7 days in advance, or 1 month if your arrival date falls during peak season in Piura.

Should I bring an identity document during the tour?

Yes, it is essential for all participants to carry a valid ID card, Alien Registration Card, or Passport during all the tours included in the package.
