Distance from Arequipa's Plaza de Armas to the Chili River: Approximately 25 minutes.
Maximum altitude in the Chilina Valley: 2,500 meters above sea level (8,200 feet).
Climate in the Chilina Valley: Sunny. The average annual temperature ranges from 15°C to 18°C (59°F to 64.4°F).
IMPORTANT: Not suitable for people with heart problems, serious medical conditions, or pregnant women.
Best time to do this activity: April to December.
Departure time: 8:00. Hotel pick up (valid only for hotels near Arequipa's Plaza de Armas).
Return time: 10:30 (approximate arrival in Arequipa at 11:00).

Día 1Activities description

(1) Departure: 08:00/Return: 11:00

07:50: Passenger pick up begins from their accommodations.
08:00: Departure for the equipment deployment bunker.
08:15: Arrival at the equipment deployment bunker. Time to change into river gear.
08:30: Departure for the Chilina Valley in Cayma.
08:40: Arrival at the Chilina Valley, in the area of the Grotto of the Virgin of Chapi Charcani at the foot of the Misti Volcano, where a safety training will be given on the activity and proper use of the equipment.
09:00: Start of the rafting activity on the Chili River. The descent will be approximately 6 km (estimated duration: 1:20 hours), with level 2, level 3, and level 3+ rapids.
10:20: End of the activity. Time to get dressed and remove all equipment.
10:30: Return to Arequipa. Snack delivery.
11:00: Arrive in Arequipa. End of our services.

FAQs

Can I bring children rafting on the Chili River from Arequipa?

Yes, children ages 8 and up are welcome. Remember that this is allowed as long as they are accompanied by an adult and the child is properly supervised.

What important details should I know about the tour?
