The South Valley Route includes a visit to 2 of the most important Archaeological Parks that are located southwest of the city of Cusco. We will start with Tipón, an enclosure that is part of the Qapac Ñan route (or Inca trail), a splendid construction that has agricultural terraces, walls made of perfectly polished stone, this place is also known as the “Wonder of hydraulic engineering”, for having channels that have continued to pour water for more than 500 years.

The second place that we will visit will be Piquillacta, this citadel has more than 700 buildings and 500 warehouses, it is one of the most important archaeological sites in Peru, it was built by the Wari (pre-Inca) culture, at the end of the 6th century. The tour will continue with a visit to the famous Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, recognized for having more than 100 canvases of painters belonging to the Cusco culture (colonial era), which has given it recognition as “the Sistine Chapel of America” .

The last, but no less striking stop, will be at the Huasao Wetland, a place made up of 4 water mirrors at the mouth of the Pachatusan lagoon, here local sculptors have carved huge sculptures of famous characters from fictional movies such as: Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, Ents from Lord of the Rings and much more.
