Did you know that just 4 hours from Lima is this beautiful snow-capped mountain? Rajuntay is the highest snow-capped mountain in the Cordillera Central (5474 masl), it is located in the Province of Yauli, Department of Junin.

If you are a lover of high mountain trekking and you are looking to continue exploring new routes, then we are waiting for you every weekend from April to September (dry season). To detail

Location: Central Andes, Department of Junín.
Distance from Lima to Nevado Rajuntay: 4 hours approx.
Maximum height in the Nevado Rajuntay: 5474 meters of altitude (17.959 feet).
Duration of the Trekking to be carried out: 2 hours to 2 hours and 30 minutes.
SUITABLE only for adults.
Cold weather. Average annual temperature 12 ºC (53.6 °F).
Dry season: from April to September.
Rainy season: from October to March.
NOT SUITABLE for people with respiratory or heart problems.
IMPORTANT: Participants must not have altitude sickness (soroche). Experience trekking at altitudes above 4000 meters above sea level (13.123 feet) is required, and above all, participants must be in good physical condition to complete the hike.
Departure Time and Point: Calle Comercio, behind the National Museum of San Borja: 22:30.
Return Time: 17:30 (departure towards Lima, approximate arrival time 21:30).

Day 1DEPARTURE AND NIGHT TRIP

22:30: Pick-up of passengers in San Borja and start of the trip along the Central Highway.

Day 2TREKKING TO THE SNOWY RAJUNTAY AND RETURN TO LIMA

01:30: Brief stop in Corcona for services and last-minute shopping (no stop for breakfast).
05:00: Arrival at the starting point of the trek, at the base of Nevado Rajuntay. You will have time to get ready and acclimatize.
05:50: Start of the ascent towards Laguna Pucacocha.
07:30: Visit to Laguna Pucacocha and a short rest before continuing towards the snow.
09:00: Arrival at the base of Nevado Rajuntay. Free time for photos and enjoying the glacial surroundings.
10:30: Start of the descent and return to the transport vehicle.
14:00: Return towards the city of Lima.
16:30: Lunch at a local restaurant en route back to Lima (not included).
17:30: Start of the return trip to the capital.
21:30: Approximate arrival in Lima. End of our services.

What requirements must I meet to be able to carry out this Trekking Day?

Be of legal age (18 years).
Experience in trekking at more than 4000 meters above sea level is required.
Not having problems with height like soroche.
Be in good physical condition for the walk.
The exit is not suitable for people with respiratory or cardiac problems.

What important details should I know about the Trekking Day?

About the Van you should know:

-The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, and you must return in the same seat in which you traveled at the beginning of the trip.

-In order to comply with the itinerary, the maximum tolerance to start the trip will be 15 minutes.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 72 hours before the start of the tour date and/or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 2 weeks in advance.

Do I need to bring any identity document during this outing?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a DNI, Immigration Card or valid Passport during the realization of this campsite.
