The Lachay Knolls is a small paradise that fills with green every year during Lima’s wet season, it is located at Kilometer 105 north of Lima. This huge coastal desert strip during this season becomes the refuge of a varied flora and fauna.

To detail

The main activities carried out within this National Reserve are bird watching and trekking through its 3 different trails. It is here where our run will take us through the Partridge Circuit, which has a total distance of 5 kilometers and a duration of 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Among the birds that we can appreciate here we have: the common harrier, the field hawk, the sand owl, hummingbirds, partridges and much more, if we are lucky we can also appreciate the amancaes, which for those who do not know them yet, this beautiful flower is our national flower.

The route is very well signposted, so we recommend this route to be able to enjoy it with the little ones at home. Go ahead and change of scene, clear up and recharge yourself with all the good energy that this beautiful place has. We are waiting for you!

Location: Km 105 of the Panamericana Sur, District of Huacho, Province of Huara, Department of Lima.
Distance from Lima to Las Lomas de Lachay: 3 hours approx.
Maximum height in Las Lomas de Lachay: 750 meters of altitude (2460.6 feet)

Day 1 Description of activities

07:00: Meeting at the starting point (San Borja) and departure towards Lachay Knolls.
09:30: Arrival at the Lomas de Lachay Orientation Center and start of the Trekking.
09:40: Start of the Partridge Circuit, approximately 5 km of walking in total.
12:40: End of the Trekking in Lachay Knolls, free time to use the restrooms, before starting the trip to the city of Huaral for lunch (not included).
13:15: Lunch at tourist restaurants in the city of Huaral (not included).
14:30: Return to the vehicle and then depart back to Lima (arrival in Lima approximately 17:30).

Can I take children under 05 to Trekking Day?

Yes, it is possible to take children under the age of 05 to Trekking Day, as long as parents are sure to ensure the comfort and well-being of their little ones, because if they cannot continue on the road, they will most likely have to carry them by the rest of the route or otherwise return from where we started.

What important details should I know about the tour?

About the Van you should know:

-The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, having to return in the same seat in which you traveled at the beginning of the tour.

-In order to comply with the itinerary, the maximum tolerance to start the trip will be 15 minutes.

-Children under 4 years old travel free, as long as they do not occupy a seat on the vehicle.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 48 hours before the start of the tour date and / or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend that you book at least 7 days in advance.

Do I have to carry an identity document during the tour?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid ID, Immigration Card or Passport during the tour.

Since covid started, this was one of our first trips, everything was done with all the best measures anti covid doing it the safest possible.

The van was a 10/10 and the guide in lomas de lachay answered all our questions, handle a lot of information and also some stories to entertain us.
