Our Full Day begins with the pickup of passengers at La Rambla in San Borja. After an overnight journey, you will arrive early in the morning in Guñog, where you will be welcomed with a restoring breakfast to recharge your energy. From there, you will begin a forty-minute hike surrounded by stunning high-Andean landscapes until connecting with the majestic Pumarinri waterfall. You will continue the route enjoying a privileged view of the snow-capped peaks of the majestic Cordillera Huayhuash from the Lima side, until reaching the spectacular Viconga lake; there you will have free time to take unforgettable photographs next to its turquoise waters. Finally, you will return to the Guñog base complex to enjoy a well-deserved rest in its volcanic hot spring pools, with free time to have lunch (not included) and savor the local gastronomy before undertaking the return trip to the city of Lima.

Location: Cajatambo District, Cajatambo Province, Department of Lima, Peru.
Distance from Lima: By private transportation: 8 to 9 hours approximately to the starting point.
Maximum altitude of the tour: 4335 meters of altitude (14,222 feet) Guñog Hot Springs.
IMPORTANT: Moderate to demanding difficulty level. Good physical condition and optimal acclimatization to the altitude are required.
Climate: Dry and cold high-mountain weather. Thermal pools between 35°C and 45°C (95°F and 113°F). Average daytime ambient temperature of 12°C (53.6°F) and nighttime temperatures down to -5°C (23°F).
Low season: From November to March (heavy rainy season).
High season: From April to October (dry and clear season).
Departure time and point: La Rambla de San Borja Shopping Center: 21:00.
Return time: 17:00 (Sunday) departure towards the city of Lima, approximate arrival at 23:30 on the same Sunday.

Day 1SATURDAY: DEPARTURE TO URAMASA

22:00: Departure towards the Uramasa Valley.21:00: Meeting at the starting point: San Borja and start of the overnight journey towards the norte chico.

Day 2SUNDAY: GUÑOG - PUMARINRI WATERFALL - VICONGA LAGOON - GUÑOG HOT SPRINGS - LIMA

07:00: Arrival at the Guñog complex to enjoy breakfast and recharge energy.
08:00: Start of the 40-minute guided hike enjoying high-Andean landscapes, with stops at the majestic Pumarinri waterfall and the Cordillera Huayhuash viewpoint.
09:00: Arrival at the spectacular Viconga lake. Free time of 1 hour and 30 minutes to walk along the shore and have a photo session next to its turquoise waters.
10:30: Return to the hot springs complex.
11:30: Arrival at the Guñog Hot Springs. Start of free time to immerse in the medicinal volcanic pools, relax and enjoy lunch with the local gastronomy (not included).
17:00: Departure in the transportation towards the city of Lima.
23:30: Approximate arrival at the initial departure points in Lima. End of our services.

What is the best season to visit the Cordillera Huayhuash?

We recommend visiting the Cordillera Huayhuash between the months of April and October, as these are the months when the weather is clearest, allowing you to perform trekking and hiking activities more comfortably and safely

What important details should I know about the Trekking Day?

About the Van you should know:

-The seats in the vehicle will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis, and you must return in the same seat you traveled in at the start of the trip.
