To detail

Our full-day tour begins with passenger pick-up from the comfort of their accommodations to embark on the journey to the heart of Huascarán National Park. The first stop will be in Carhuaz for breakfast (not included) to fuel up before continuing along the Carhuaz–Chacas road, a spectacular route that crosses the Ulta Valley. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of waterfalls, queñua forests (native trees with reddish bark), and the enormous ice walls of Chopicalqui (one of Peru’s highest mountains, over 6,000 meters) will appear on the horizon. You’ll then arrive at the iconic Punta Olímpica Tunnel, an impressive passage through the mountain and one of the highest in the world at 4,736 meters (15,538 feet).

The vehicle will drop you off right at the entrance of this tunnel, where it will wait for you. From here, at an altitude of approximately 4,750 meters, you will begin your hike. Although the ascent is accessible, some prior experience will be necessary to navigate the rocky trails and glacial ice safely. You will be accompanied by your mountain guide and equipped with all the necessary gear.

Once at the summit, the reward will be breathtaking: a 360-degree panoramic viewpoint overlooking the roof of Peru, where the snow-capped peaks of Ulta and Contrahierbas stand guard over the shimmering blue lake nestled in the valleys below. After conquering the snow, you will descend for lunch (not included) and begin your return to Huaraz, arriving at approximately 3:30 PM. End of our services.
