To detail
This 3-day and 2-night package will begin in the picturesque city of Puno. It will allow you to discover the rich history of the Altiplano and sail across the sacred waters of the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world.
 
The first day will begin with a meeting at the Main Square to ascend to the Puma Uta Viewpoint, the best spot for taking photos and enjoying a spectacular panoramic view of the entire bay. Afterwards, you will descend to the historic center to visit the majestic Cathedral, a masterpiece of colonial architecture, and the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Candelaria, whose festivity is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will continue through Pino Park and end at the Carlos Dreyer Museum, which safeguards the Sillustani Treasure (an archaeological burial complex) where you can appreciate a valuable gold collection from the Colla culture, a pre-Inca civilization.
 
The next day, on the second day, you will transfer to the pier to begin a full-day navigation. The first stop will be at the famous Uros Floating Islands, a community unique in the world that lives on artificial platforms built with totora reeds. Here, there will be an option to take a ride on a traditional community raft.
 
Then, the boat will continue the journey toward the beautiful Taquile Island, globally recognized for its textile art, which is also declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will walk toward the main square to learn about these famous local textiles and witness a traditional dance. Afterward, you will enjoy a traditional lunch at the home of a local family to live an authentic community experience. Before returning, you will cross its emblematic stone arch, the symbol of the island, and then walk down the 500 steps toward the port to board the boat back to Puno.

Day 1CITY OF PUNO AND CITY TOUR

  • 10:20: Arrival in Juliaca and transfer to the hotel in Puno. (recommended time).
  • 11:30: Arrival in Puno and check-in at the hotel.
  • 14:00: Meeting at the Main Square and start of the City Tour through the city of Puno.
  • 14:15: Arrival at the Puma Uta Viewpoint, from this strategic spot you will enjoy spectacular views of Lake Titicaca and learn about the origins of the city.
  • 14:45: Descent to the historic heart. A walk through the Main Square and the Cathedral to immerse yourself in the legends told by its carved stone walls.
  • 15:15: Stop at the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Candelaria. An encounter with local faith to understand why this festivity is a World Heritage Site.
  • 15:45: Tour of Pino Park (Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Candelaria) and the historic San Carlos School. You will feel the identity and vibrant pulse of the Altiplano in these areas full of life.
  • 16:15: Visit to the Carlos Dreyer Municipal Museum. Time to admire the impressive Sillustani Treasure, a journey into the art and grandeur of pre-Inca cultures.
    17:00: End of the tour at the Plaza de Armas. Free afternoon and evening for overnight stay.

Día 2FULL DAY A LAS ISLAS DE LOS UROS Y TAQUILE

  • 06:00: Buffet breakfast at the hotel.
  • 07:30: Pickup of passengers to start the Full Day Tour.
  • 07:45: Departure of the boat toward the Lake Titicaca National Reserve.
  • 07:50: Arrival at the Uros Floating Islands complex, where you will have an informative talk about the life and customs of the population.
  • 09:00: Free time for the optional ride on a totora reed raft (additional cost approximately S/25 soles) and interaction with locals.
  • 09:45: Departure of the boat toward Taquile Island.
  • 10:00: Arrival at the island, where you will have a cultural presentation about the social laws and the unique textile art of the inhabitants of Taquile. You will visit the community’s exclusive artisan center, have the chance to participate in a local dance, and have time to take photos with the locals and their traditional attire.
  • 12:00: You will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the host family.
  • 13:00: Visit to the natural viewpoints with panoramic views of the lake and descent down the 500-step staircase.
  • 14:00: Start of the return journey toward the main pier.
  • 16:00: Return to the city of Puno, transfer to your accommodations, and free evening for overnight stay.

What is the best time of year to visit Puno?

The city of Puno can be visited year-round, but take note of the two most distinct seasons in terms of weather. For example, if your trip is between September and March (don’t forget to pack waterproof clothing), because it will be the rainy season. But if your trip is between April and August (then you can enjoy the dry season), where you will find clear, sunny skies and a very pleasant daytime temperature (approximately 15-20°C).

What important details should I know about this package?

The tours are offered in private service, meaning that both the transport capacity and the guiding service are uniquely and exclusively for the passengers who take this package, with the exception of the following tours, detailed below:
 
– FULL DAY TO THE UROS AND TAQUILE ISLANDS: Vehicle seats will be occupied on a first-come, first-served basis, and passengers must return in the same seat they occupied when the tour started. In order to comply with the itinerary, you are kindly requested to be very attentive at the time of boarding to meet the departure and return schedules.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

A minimum of 20 days before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or any other part of the world, we recommend booking at least 30 days in advance, or 2 months if your arrival date falls during the high season in Puno.

Do I need to carry an ID document during the tours?

Yes, it is essential for all participants to carry a valid ID card (DNI), Alien Registration Card (Carnet de Extranjería), or Passport during all the tours included in the package.
