To detail

This 3-day, 2-night package includes the city’s most important jewel: the Colca Canyon, where you can watch the incredible flight of the condor. You will also have the opportunity to relax in the Chacapi hot springs (located in the Yanque District), the ideal setting for a perfect rest in the middle of nature. Within this experience, you will also make a brief stop at the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, a space where you will appreciate alpacas and vicuñas roaming free under the blue sky. Arequipa is not just a place to visit; it will be an experience that stays with you forever.

  • Location: Northeast of the city of Arequipa, Caylloma Province, Department of Arequipa, Peru.
  • Distance from Lima to Arequipa by plane: 1 hour and 30 minutes / By bus: 16 hours approx.
  • Maximum altitude in Arequipa: 4,910 meters (16,109 feet) above sea level.
  • Climate: Dry and sunny. Average annual temperature of 18°C (64.4°F).
  • IMPORTANT: Good altitude acclimatization is required.

Day 1AREQUIPA CITY AND PEDESTRIAN CITY TOUR + SANTA CATALINA MONASTERY

  • 07:20: Arrival in Arequipa and transfer to the hotel (recommended time).
  • 08:45: Pickup from your accommodation and start of the Pedestrian City Tour of Arequipa.
  • 09:00: Visit to the Church of La Compañía Complex and its Cloisters. We will continue with a visit to the San Ignacio Dome, ending with a walk to the Arequipa Main Square.
  • 09:40: Arrival at the Arequipa Main Square and time for taking photos. The tour will continue towards the Cathedral Basilica Museum of Arequipa.
  • 10:10: Visit to the Cathedral Basilica Museum of Arequipa.
  • 11:00: Next, we will visit some of the city’s ancient colonial mansions, such as the Tristán del Pozo House. Departure towards the Santa Catalina Monastery.
  • 11:45: Start of the visit to the Santa Catalina Monastery.
  • 12:45: End of the visit and transfer to your accommodations. Free afternoon and evening to rest.

Day 2FULL DAY COLCA CANYON, CHACAPI HOT SPRINGS, SALINAS AND AGUADA BLANCA NATIONAL RESERVE

  • 03:00: Box breakfast to be requested at the hotel reception and pickup of passengers to start the Full Day tour.
  • 03:15: Pickup of passengers from their accommodation to begin the Full Day tour to the Colca Canyon, heading towards the Volcanoes Viewpoint.
  • 06:00: Brief stop at the Patapampa Viewpoint, also called the Volcanoes Viewpoint, at 4910 meters (16,109 feet) above sea level, the highest point on the route to the Colca Canyon, featuring views of the Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca volcanoes.
  • 07:00: Stop for breakfast in the town of Chivay.
  • 08:00: Departure to the town of Maca and visit to its beautiful Santa Ana Colonial Church.
  • 09:00: Visits to the Wayra Punku and Antahuilque viewpoints, and the Cruz del Cóndor Viewpoint, to appreciate the deep immensity of the Colca Canyon and, with luck, spot the flight of the majestic condor.
  • 11:00: Brief stop at Los Tronquitos Viewpoint to taste a local fruit called Sancayo, in fresh juices or as a delicious Colca Sour.
  • 12:00: Visit to the Chacapi Hot Springs and free time to enjoy its medicinal water pools in the town of Yanque.
  • 13:00: Transfer to the town of Chivay for the buffet lunch.
  • 15:00: Brief stop in Tocrapampa to observe the local flora and fauna, such as alpacas and llamas. Continuation to the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve to spot vicuñas.
  • 15:30: Departure towards the city of Arequipa.
  • 17:30: Return to the city of Arequipa, transfer to your accommodations, and free evening to rest.

Day 3END OF TOURS

  • 07:00: Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 10:00: Transfer from the hotel to the Arequipa Airport or bus station (recommended time). End of our services.
FAQs

What is the best time to visit Arequipa?

Arequipa can be visited all year round, but if you want to travel during the best season, we recommend going between the months of April and December. The probability of rain during these months is low, making hikes and walks much more comfortable.

What important details should I know about this package?

The tours are offered as a private service, meaning that both the transport capacity and the guiding service are solely and exclusively for the passengers booking this package, with the exception of the following tours detailed below: 

– FULL DAY TO THE COLCA CANYON + CHACAPI HOT SPRINGS: Vehicle seats will be occupied on a first-come, first-served basis, and you must return in the same seat you used at the start of the tour. In order to comply with the itinerary, you are kindly requested to be very attentive during boarding to meet the scheduled departure and return times. 

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

A minimum of 20 days before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or any other part of the world, we recommend booking at least 30 days in advance, or 2 months if your arrival date falls during the high season in Arequipa. 

Do I need to carry an ID document during the tours?

Yes, it is essential for all participants to carry a valid ID card (DNI), Alien Registration Card (Carnet de Extranjería), or Passport during all the tours included in the package.
