Our package begins with picking up passengers from the comfort of their accommodation near the Main Square of Puno and transferring them to the Puno pier, where they will board the boat to the Lake Titicaca National Reserve. After a twenty-minute sail, they will arrive at the woven world of the Uros. There, they will meet the legendary descendants of the Aymara people (an indigenous group originating from the Andes who inhabit the Titicaca plateau) and learn about the process of making the totora reed dams (an aquatic plant that grows in the lake), which give rise to these islands. They will learn about their lifestyle based on hunting and fishing, and will have the opportunity to appreciate and purchase their delicate handicrafts and handmade textiles. They can even participate in an optional boat trip on their traditional totora reed rafts (not included, approximate cost S/20-25 soles).
After saying goodbye to the Uros people, they will continue their journey to Amantaní Island, where Quechua host families (direct descendants of the Incas) will welcome them into their homes. Once settled in, they will enjoy a local lunch prepared with fresh ingredients, typically including quinoa soup, native potato varieties, fresh cheese, and broad beans. In the afternoon, they will hike to the sacred temple of Pachatata, also known as the Temple of Pachamama, located at almost 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) above sea level. There, they will participate in a ritual offering to Mother Earth and await an unforgettable sunset. The day will conclude with a shared dinner and a traditional music party where they can wear the island’s typical attire under a starry sky.
On the second day, after waking to the lake breeze, they will enjoy a hearty breakfast of artisanal bread, local jams, and the traditional muña infusion, along with classic local pancakes.
After this warm farewell, you will sail to the Capachica Peninsula, home to the Llachón Community, recognized since 2000 as the birthplace of community-based rural tourism in the region. Here, you will meet families renowned for their hospitality and weaving techniques, who have been pioneers in opening their homes to preserve their living culture. You will stroll along the white sand beaches and climb to natural viewpoints to admire landscapes where turquoise water and sky merge into a perfect scene. Before departing, you can enjoy a traditional lunch on the peninsula prepared with local ingredients (not included, approximate cost from S/25 soles).
