Piura – Half DayWhale Watching Tour + Visit to the Marine Museum from Los Órganos

0
  • 3.5 Hours
  • Groups: Up to 20 people
  • Difficulty: 3
  • Available: From jul to oct.
  • Pickup: Accommodation
  • Min Age: 5+

Whale watching in the district of Los Órganos ( Talara ) is the most beautiful natural spectacle in northern Peru and an adventure you shouldn’t miss. You can enjoy this event from July to the end of October, when humpback whales pass by the coasts of Tumbes and Piura during their migration across the South Pacific to give birth to their calves. After training, the calves will continue their journey together to Antarctica.

This tour begins with a guided visit to the Marine Museum , where you’ll learn a bit more about the local wildlife before boarding the boat. Next, you’ll board the vessel, and once out at sea, all you have to do is be patient to witness the impressive breaches of humpback whales, as well as dolphins, turtles, and seabirds. To complement this experience and make it even more enriching, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to the whales’ songs underwater, thanks to the  boat’s hydrophone —a special microphone that can descend to a depth of 8 meters. The adventure concludes with the return to the Los Órganos pier  and transfer to your accommodations, if you have chosen the All-Inclusive package.

What will you see on this midday tour?

  1.  Marine Museum.
  2. Los Órganos Pier.
