Our 2D/1N tour begins with passenger pickup from the meeting points in San Borja during Friday night to start the journey heading northeast. At dawn, you will enjoy an energizing breakfast (included) in Antacolpa before arriving at the picturesque town of Queropalca, located at an altitude of 3,800 meters (12,467 feet), the starting point of an uphill hike toward the camping area, surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes and snow-capped peaks. Mid-route, you will take a break to enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.
 
You will continue along the trail until reaching the camping area, where tents will be distributed and set up. Afterwards, you will visit Lake Carhuacocha, where you can contemplate the reflection of the Huayhuash mountain range in the turquoise waters before closing the first day with an Andean dinner (included) and a pleasant group integration moment, before spending the night in high-mountain tents designed for the Andean climate.
 
On the second day, after a mountain breakfast (included), you will undertake a demanding hike toward the famous Three Lakes viewpoint at an altitude of 4,600 meters (15,092 feet), from where you can appreciate the perfect alignment of the Cangrajanca, Siulacocha, and Quesillococha lakes. You will have plenty of time to capture photographs of the ice wall formed by the Yerupajá and Siula Grande snow-capped peaks. After beginning the descent, you will return to the camping area for lunch (included) in front of Lake Carhuacocha; subsequently, you will undertake the hike back to Queropalca to start the return journey to the city of Lima. Arrival is scheduled for approximately 07:20 on Monday. End of our services.

DAY 0 FRIDAY: LIMA – NIGHT ROUTE TO THE ANDES

  • 9:20 PM: Meeting at the starting point: San Borja and beginning of the night trip towards the Huayhuash Mountain Range.

DAY 1 SATURDAY: QUEROPALCA – TREKKING TO CARHUACOCHA LAKE

  • 08:00: Stop in Antacolpa. Time to enjoy an energizing breakfast (included) and prepare for the start of the high-altitude route.
  • 12:00: Arrival in Queropalca (3,800 meters of altitude/12,467 feet). Starting point of the adventure and organization of mountain logistics.
  • 13:00: Start of the hike toward the camping area. Trekking along Andean trails with panoramic views of snow-capped peaks.
  • 16:00: Break on the route. Time to enjoy a delicious lunch (included) before continuing the ascent.
  • 17:00: Arrival at the campsite (4,150 meters of altitude/13,615 feet). Settlement in one of the most spectacular camping areas facing the ice wall of the Andes.
  • 18:30: Andean dinner, afternoon-tea style, with local products (included).
  • 19:30: Technical briefing about the next day’s route and group integration time. Overnight in high-mountain tents.

DAY 2 SUNDAY: THREE LAKES VIEWPOINT – QUEROPALCA – LIMA

  • 06:30: Mountain breakfast. Start of the day with food designed for high-altitude physical activity (included).
  • 07:00: Start of the trekking toward the Three Lakes viewpoint. Demanding ascent to visit the Cangrajanca, Siulacocha, and Quesillococha lakes.
  • 10:30: Arrival at the viewpoint (4,600 meters of altitude/15,092 feet). Free time to rest, enjoy the aligned view of the three lakes, and photograph the Yerupajá and Siula Grande snow-capped peaks.
  • 12:00: Start of the descent back to the base camp.
  • 15:00: Arrival at the camping area.
  • 15:30: Lunch in front of Carhuacocha Lake.
  • 16:30: Hike back to Queropalca.
  • 18:30: Arrival in Queropalca. Time for personal organization and arrival of private transport.

What is the best time to visit Huánuco?

We recommend visiting the city of Huánuco between April and September, as these are the months with the clearest weather, making trekking and hiking activities more comfortable and safe.

What important details should I know about this Tour?

This activity is offered as a shared service in a small group, meaning the vehicle will be shared with other clients up to a maximum of 15 passengers. All passengers will follow the same itinerary.
