Travel Lite Package

One-hour dune buggy tour (8-person reclining seats with semi-professional 4-point harnesses).
Entrance ticket to Huacachina.
Visit to Huacachina Lagoon (Panoramic View).
Sandboarding and exclusive tube ride (sandtubing).
Rescue equipment such as fire extinguishers, tow strap, Hi-Lift jack, spare tire, and first-aid kit (inside the buggies).
Stops for photos and sunset views.

Distance from Lima to Ica: Approximately 4 hours.
Distance from Paracas to Ica: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Maximum altitude in Ica: 406 meters (1332 feet).
Climate: Dry and sunny. Average annual temperature 22 ºC (71.6 °F).
Suitable for children from 3 years old* (*Specifically for the dune buggy ride and only when accompanied by an adult).
IMPORTANT: Not suitable for people with heart problems or pregnant women. If the dune buggy is carrying children under 5 years old, we recommend upgrading this service to a private one for an additional US$50.

Decorations: Bonfire, rug, tents, awnings, chairs, cushions, pillows, poufs.
Lighting: Candles, torches, lamps, and LED light spheres, which not only provide illumination but also create a warm, decorative, and elegant ambiance.
Amenities: Charging stations for cell phones and open Wi-Fi.

Itinerary

Day 1Description of activities

15:15: Meeting at the Departure Point (Accommodation in Ica or Bus Station) for those who chose the All Inclusive Package.
15:45: Arrival at Duna Camp. Starting point for those who chose the Travel Lite Package.
16:00: Start of the dune buggy tour (sandboarding and sandtubing), visit to the desert and Huacachina oasis.
18:00: At approximately this time, we will arrive at the Sunset Viewpoint, a special location where you can appreciate the sunset*.
18:30: Transfer to the camping area for the picnic.
19:30: Return to your accommodation in the city or the original pick-up point. End of our services.

(*) During the winter months from June to September, the arrival at the Sunset viewpoint will be brought forward by 30 minutes, due to the fact that it gets dark earlier.

What is the best time to visit this destination?

The Huacachina Desert is located in the Ica Department. This destination enjoys sunshine year-round, so it can be visited any month of the year without any problem.

If you are traveling with children, remember that they must be accompanied by an adult to ride in the dune buggies. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women.

What important details should I know about the Desert Picnic?

If you choose to take the transfers from Lima or Paracas, please keep these considerations in mind:

-CRUZ DEL SUR INTERPROVINCIAL BUS: Passengers must arrive at the bus station 30 minutes before the departure time indicated on their ticket. Seats must be occupied according to the number assigned on your electronic ticket.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

The Picnic service is available every day, it can be set up for 2 people subject to availability and only with reservations made up to 72 hours in advance. However, we recommend booking at least 7 days in advance (only if you are in Lima), but if you are from a neighboring country or any other part of the world, we recommend booking at least 15 days in advance.

Do I need to bring any identification documents during the Picnic in the desert?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid ID, Immigration Card or Passport during the activity, especially if you decide to take interprovincial buses to travel between destinations (Lima/Paracas or Ica), as this is the only valid document to board the bus.

What happens if I'm in Lima and I don't know how to get to Paracas?
