Our full-day tour begins with passenger pick-up from the comfort of their accommodations near the Main Square of Puno, for a transfer to the Inka Qamaña site. At this impressive archaeological site, known as the “Inca Resting Place“, you will observe stone structures that bear witness to the ancient cultures and learn about the different versions of the ritual uses given to it by the ancient inhabitants of Peru.

Next, you will travel to Juli, the “Rome of America“, famous for its religious importance during the colonial period. There, you will visit monumental churches such as San Juan de Letrán and Santa Cruz de Jerusalén, where you will closely observe the fine stone architecture and the paintings of the Cusco School that decorate their interiors. In this city, you will have free time to enjoy a typical local lunch (not included) and explore its colonial squares.

Afterward, they will continue to the mystical Aramu Muru portal, an imposing reddish stone altar carved into the base of a mountain, finally standing before the “Gate of the Gods,” a seven-meter-high threshold that, according to local tradition, serves as a spiritual connection to other dimensions.

At this site, they will visit the Stone Forest, also located within this complex, where they can observe different rock formations, identifying figures such as the “tired horse” and the “puma“.

Finally, you will visit the village of Chucuito to enter Inka Uyo, a rectangular ceremonial site where you will find dozens of phallic stone sculptures used in ancient fertility rituals and earth worship. The tour will conclude with the return to the city of Puno, arriving at approximately 18:30 for direct transfer to your respective hotels, this will mark the end of our services.

  • 08:45: Pick-up of passengers from their accommodations near the Plaza de Armas in Puno and start of the journey to the southern area of the Titicaca ​​Lake.
  • 11:00: Arrival and observation of the Inka Qamaña archaeological site, also known as the “Inca’s resting place.” Here you can hear different versions about this place and its uses by the ancient inhabitants of Peru.
  • 12:00: Transfer to the city of Juli.
  • 12:50: Arrival in the city of Juli, known as “the Rome of America” ​​for the large number of colonial churches found here. You can visit them and admire their stone architecture and antique paintings.
  • 13:30: Lunch at a local restaurant in Juli (not included) to try typical local cuisine. You will also have free time to shop for handicrafts near the Plaza de Armas.
  • 14:30: Transfer to the Aramu Muru portal. 2:45 PM: Arrival at the Aramu Muru archaeological site to see the famous Gate of the Gods, carved from reddish rock. What is the best time of year to visit Puno?

The city of Puno can be visited year-round, but take note of the two most distinct seasons in terms of weather. For example, if your trip is between September and March (don’t forget to pack waterproof clothing), because it will be the rainy season. But if your trip is between April and August (then you can enjoy the dry season), where you will find clear, sunny skies and a very pleasant daytime temperature (approximately 15-20°C).
