Our Full Day will begin with the memory of the passengers from their accommodations looking for the Main Square of Puno with direction to the muelle. There they will be subjected to the launch that will take them to the Isla Flotantes de los Uros; We suggest using a sombrero and solar blocker as essential as possible, as well as taking in water to ensure good hydration before the intense sun of the lake.

Upon arriving at the Isla de los Uros, you will meet the Aymaras (an indigenous people who live in the Andes). They will teach you how they use the totora (plant that grows in the water) to build their own floating islands, their houses and their boats. You can observe your lifestyle and traditions. Additionally, you can participate in a beach walk organized by the local community (optional, extra cost of approximately S/25).

Afterwards, we will travel en route to Isla Taquile, home to a Quechua community directly descending from the Incas. This place is world-famous for the great skill of its inhabitants in handcrafting, a tradition so special that UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in 2005. Upon arrival, you will walk to the main square to visit the “Asociación Artesanal Santiago”, where you will find the opportunity to purchase this place unique piezas. Then, you will enjoy a typical dance performed by your community, where you will also be able to participate in the dance and capture indelible photographs, both during and after the presentation.

After this you will enjoy a typical meal at the home of a local family (vegetarian options). Before leaving, we will go to the viewpoints to take photos of the immensity of the lake and pass by the famous stone arch. To finish, you will climb a ladder of 500 passengers to the port. You will return on your plane leaving the city of Puno at approximately 15:30.

Distance from Lima to Puno by plane: 1 hour 40 minutes (Arrival airport: Juliaca). Juliaca - Puno Main Square: 45 minutes by road.
Maximum altitude in Puno: 3827 meters of altitude (12,556 feet).
IMPORTANT: Have good acclimatization to the altitude.
Climate: Cold and semi-dry. Average annual temperature: 15°C (59°F) daytime - 0°C (32°F) nighttime.
Low season: September to March (rainy season).
High season: April to August.

Day 1Description of the activities

07:15: Pick-up of passengers from their accommodations located near the Plaza de Armas in Puno, heading to the main pier for the start of the full-day tour.
07:45: Departure of the boat towards the Lake Titicaca National Reserve.
07:50: Arrival at the Uros Floating Islands complex, where you will receive an informative talk about the life and customs of the local people.
09:00: Free time for an optional reed boat ride (additional cost approximately S/25 soles) and interaction with the locals.
09:45: Departure of the boat towards Taquile Island.
10:00: Arrival at the island. You will enjoy a cultural presentation on the social laws and unique textile art of the inhabitants of Taquile. You will visit the community’s exclusive artisan center and have the opportunity to participate in a local dance. There will also be time to take photos with the locals in their traditional costumes.
12:00: Enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by the host family.
13:00: Visit the natural viewpoints with panoramic views of the lake and descend the 500-step staircase.
14:00: Start of the return trip to the main dock.
16:00: Approximate arrival in the city of Puno. End of our services.

What is the best time of year to visit Puno?

The city of Puno can be visited year-round, but take note of the two most distinct seasons in terms of weather. For example, if your trip is between September and March (don’t forget to pack waterproof clothing), because it will be the rainy season. But if your trip is between April and August (then you can enjoy the dry season), where you will find clear, sunny skies and a very pleasant daytime temperature (approximately 15-20°C).

What important details should I know about the Full Day?

About the Van you should know:

-In order to comply with the itinerary, the maximum tolerance to start the trip will be 15 minutes.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

At least 48 hours before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to seat availability. If you’re from a neighboring country or anywhere else in the world, we recommend booking at least 7 days in advance, or one month if the date you arrive is high season in Puno.
