To detail

Our tour will begin with passenger pick-up from the comfort of their accommodations near the Main Square of Puno in Puno. We will then transfer them to the pier, where they will board a boat equipped with all the necessary amenities to begin their journey. After a 20-minute ride, they will arrive at the Floating Islands of the Uros (as a precaution against the intense sun in this area, it is ideal to bring sunscreen, a hat, and a bottle of water for your comfort during the tour).

Upon arrival, the guide will provide detailed information about the customs and lifestyle of the Aymara people (an indigenous group, ancestors of the inhabitants who live in the Andes). You will be able to observe how they build their homes and learn about their daily activities. Additionally, you can participate in a boat trip on Lake Titicaca aboard a traditional totora reed raft made by the community (this activity is optional and has an additional cost of approximately S/ 20).

After the visit, you will travel to Amantaní Island, home to a Quechua community (direct descendants of the Incas) skilled in agriculture (potatoes, quinoa, oca, and broad beans). Upon disembarking, you will be welcomed by the local inhabitants, who will accompany you for a cultural exchange and a typical lunch prepared with local natural products.

Next, you will hike up to the temples of Pachatata or Pachamama, ancient ceremonial centers located in the highest areas of the island. At these sacred sites, you will be able to observe the original stone architecture up close and learn about the importance of the rituals of gratitude to Mother Earth that the local communities still practice today. From this privileged vantage point, you will also enjoy a panoramic view of the lake.

Afterward, you will depart for the Capachica Peninsula, where you will find Llachón, a community that keeps its traditions alive and offers a tranquil atmosphere. Upon arrival, the residents will greet you in their colorful traditional clothing and showcase their textile art. You’ll have the opportunity to observe firsthand how they use traditional tools to spin and weave sheep and alpaca wool. In addition to this cultural experience, you’ll have time to explore the peninsula’s natural surroundings. You can walk along trails lined with local plants (such as the Cantuta, Peru’s national flower, and the Muña, an aromatic Andean plant) until you reach the white sand beaches that surround the area. These beaches are perfect for relaxing by Lake Titicaca, strolling along the shore, enjoying the crystal-clear waters, the beauty of the landscapes, and taking stunning photographs. Finally, your transportation will be waiting to take you back to the city of Puno, arriving at approximately 16:30.
