To detail
Located at approximately 5,000 meters above sea level (16,404 feet), the day tour, known as the “Ruta del Cambio Climático” (Climate Change Route), includes stops at natural attractions such as the Puyas Raymondi, the Patococha lagoon, and the carbonated waters, offering visitors a hike to observe firsthand the effects of global warming in a tropical high-mountain ecosystem.

This trip is a magnificent circuit that offers a full day of nature and spectacular mountain views in the Peruvian Andes.

Our Full Day starts with picking up passengers from their accommodations (this must be within the Historic Center of Huaraz), from here we will depart towards the towns of RecuayTicapampa, and Catac. Upon taking the detour towards the Cordillera Blanca through the Carpa sector, we will visit several points of interest: the source of natural carbonated watersLake PumapaShimi or “of the 7 colors“, and the forest of Puyas Raymondi, emblematic plants of the Andes that can measure up to 12 meters and live for approximately 100 years.

Finally, you arrive at the nevado’s base parking lot (4800 meters above sea level/13,123 feet), from where you access by walking or on horseback (rental can be coordinated directly with the local residents). Here we can observe the imposing ice walls, which allows us to understand the notable glacier retreat due to global warming, and obtain impressive views of the mountain range. The tour concludes with the return by transport to the city of Huaraz, arriving at approximately 5:30 PM, leaving a memorable experience that invites you to return.
