To detail

The Full Day begins with the pick-up of passengers from the comfort of their accommodations in Cusco (as long as they are close to the Historic Center), and then we go to the PeruRail train station, where we will leave for Aguas Calientes (first in a bus transfer and then in connection to the Ollantaytambo Station), town from where the buses depart to the Machu Picchu Mountain.

Our local guides will be in charge of giving you all the details and history of this impressive Historical Sanctuary, also known as the Llacta de los Incas, today one of the most visited places in the world.

After having taken the best photos, we will return to the town of Aguas Calientes, a typical lunch awaits us at a local restaurant, we will have free time to take home some souvenir.

Finally, the return train leaves in the afternoon where we will be arriving in the city of Cusco approximately at dusk.

  • Distance from Lima to Cusco by plane: 42 minutes. By Bus: 22 hours approx.
  • Distance from the city of Cusco to Aguas Calientes by train: 4 hours.
  • Distance from Aguas Calientes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu: 30 minutes.
  • Maximum height in Machu Picchu: 2439 meters of altitude (8001 feet).
  • IMPORTANT: Have good acclimatization to the altitude.

Day 1Description of the activities

  • 4:30: Hotel pick up for Wanchaq Station.
  • 5:10: Bus departure for Ollantaytambo Train Station.
  • 7:10: Transfer to the PeruRail Vistadome Observatory train towards Aguas Calientes.
  • 9:15: Arrival in Aguas Calientes.
  • 10:00: Bus ride with CONSETTUR to Machu Picchu (approximate time).
  • 11:00: Start of the Machu Picchu tour (approximate time).
  • 13:30: End of the Machu Picchu tour and return to Aguas Calientes.
  • 14:00: Free time for lunch and souvenir shopping.
  • 18:20: Departure on the PeruRail Expedition train to Ollantaytambo Station (please arrive at the station 40 minutes prior to departure).
  • 20:15: Transfer to the PeruRail bus to Cusco.
  • 22:30: Arrival at Wanchaq Station in the city of Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

What is the best time to go to Cusco?

Cusco can be visited throughout the year, but if you want to travel in the best season, we recommend you go between the months of April to October, as the probability of rain during those months is low, making the mountains look more majestic and with lots of sunshine.

What important details should I know about Full Day?

The Full Day is offered in a shared service. The maximum capacity will be 15 people per group, where the guidance is solely and exclusively for the passengers who take this program. With the exception of transfers by train and Tourist Bus to Machu Picchu that are detailed below:

-TRAIN TO AGUAS CALIENTES: The location of the seats within this service is reflected in the ticket that will be sent to you electronically at the time of purchase of the package.

-TOURISTIC BUS TO MACHU PICCHU: The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, and you must return in the same seat in which you traveled at the start of the tour. In order to comply with the itinerary, please be very attentive at the time of boarding, in order to comply with the departure and return times.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 30 days before the start of the Full Day and/or subject to space availability (only if you are already in Cusco). But if you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 45 days in advance or 2 months if the date you arrive is high season in Cusco.

Do I need to bring any identity document during the Full Day?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid DNI, Immigration Card or Passport during the completion of this Tour.
