Day 1Description of the activities

  • 4:00: Pick-up of passengers from their accommodations and transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station.
  • 5:30: Boarding the train to KM 104 and beginning of the hike in the Chachabamba sector.
  • 6:00: Exploration of the Chachabamba control and purification center and ascent to Wiñay Wayna.
  • 8:30: Arrival at Wiñay Wayna for observation of agricultural terraces and enjoyment of the box lunch (included).
  • 9:30: Continuation of the hike along the original trail towards the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).
  • 10:30: Arrival at the Sun Gate and panoramic view of the Machu Picchu citadel.
  • 11:00: Entrance to the historical sanctuary and guided tour of the temple areas and main plazas.
  • 12:30: End of the guided tour and boarding of the bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes.
  • 14:30: Boarding of the return train from Aguas Calientes station to Ollantaytambo.

What is the best time to go to Cusco?

Cusco can be visited year-round, but if you wish to travel during the best time, we recommend going between April and October, as the probability of rain during these months is low, making the mountains appear more majestic and bathed in sunshine.

What important details should I know about this Full Day Tour?

The tour is offered as a shared service, so the groups are made up of people of different ages and physical conditions who walk at their own pace. In the event of any proposed changes to the itinerary, the guide will make the final decision after consulting with all participants.
