Day 1PUNO / FLOATING ISLANDS OF THE UROS / INTI PUNKU ISLAND

  • 8:30: Pick-up of passengers from their accommodations to begin our journey to the port of Puno.
  • 9:15: Start of the navigation on Lake Titicaca, enjoying the Andean breeze and the ideal setting for birdwatching.
  • 9:45: Arrival at the floating islands of the Uros (native communities), where you will meet their inhabitants, descendants of the Aymara people, and learn about the amazing process of building their homes from totora reeds, with the opportunity to try it (optional).
  • 10:45: Free time to purchase souvenirs of the different crafts made by the inhabitants of these islands.
  • 11:30: Transfer to your accommodation on Inti Punku Island, an exclusive retreat belonging to one of the Uros Island families, carefully designed to connect you with the serenity of the lake and make you feel at home.
  • 13:00: Lunch available in the privacy of your cabin (included) and free time to enjoy the facilities.
  • 17:00: Start of your kayak tour on Lake Titicaca, enjoying the sunset views as you return to Inti Punku Island.

What is the best time of year to visit Puno?

The city of Puno can be visited year-round, but be aware of the two main seasons in terms of weather. For example, if your trip is between September and March (don’t forget to pack waterproof clothing), as it will be the rainy season. However, if your trip is between April and August (then you can enjoy the dry season), you’ll find clear, sunny skies and very pleasant daytime temperatures (approximately 15-20°C).

What important details should I know about this Tour?

Transfers and tours will be offered as a mixed service; some will be private and others shared. Please remember to take the following into account:

-LAKE BOAT:

In order to adhere to the itinerary, the maximum grace period for starting the trip will be 15 minutes. Boat seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

At least 15 days before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to availability. If you are from a neighboring country or anywhere else in the world, we recommend booking at least 20 days in advance, or 1 month if your arrival date falls during peak season in Puno.

Do I have to carry an identity document during the tour?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid ID, Immigration Card or Passport during the Tour.
