If you arrive in Lima for the first time and you are looking for a different, calm place, full of nature and, above all, disconnection, then you will love this place. The Guñog thermal baths are located at the foot of one of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Peru, called the Cordillera Huayhuash, to be more exact we will find ourselves between the limits of the Department of Lima and Huánuco. Do not miss the opportunity to enjoy this wonderful destination.

  • Location: Huayllapa Town, Province of Cajatambo, Department of Lima.
  • Distance from Lima to the Guñog Thermal Baths by van: 9 hours approx.
  • Maximum altitude in Guñog: 4,335 meters above sea level.
  • NOT SUITABLE for people with respiratory or heart problems.
  • IMPORTANT: Preferably not be sedentary people and have good acclimatization to the altitude.
  • Cold weather. Average annual temperature 12ºC.
  • Dry season: from April to September
  • Rainy season: from October to March.

Day 1DEPARTURE TO CAJATAMBO AND THE THERMAL BATHS OF GUÑOG

  • 05:15: Departure towards the Town of Churín.
  • 08:20: Arrival in Churín to have breakfast and make the last necessary purchases for the camp.
  • 09:20: Departure to the town of Cajatambo.
  • 12:30: Arrival in Cajatambo and lunch.
  • 13:30: Departure to the Trekking route of the Thermal Baths.
  • 15:00: Beginning of the Trekking towards the thermal baths.
  • 15:30 p.m.: Set up and free time to enjoy the warm waters of the thermal baths.
  • 19:30 p.m.: Moment of integration with the whole group where we will share experiences, souvenir photos, group dynamics, as well as make use of the gas stoves to have a pleasant coffee or other food, instant soups, etc. Break time.

Day 2TREKKING TO THE WATERFALLS AND VICONGA LAGOON, RETURN TO LIMA

  • 05:40: We get up to have breakfast (carry provisions) and pick up the camp.
  • 06:25: Beginning of the Trekking to the Viconga lagoon and the Cascades.
  • 11:00: Departure to the town of Cajatambo.
  • 13:40: Arrival to Cajatambo where we will have lunch.
  • 14:50 p.m.: Departure towards Churín.
  • 15:00: Arrival to the Town of Churín. Free time for use of hygienic services.
  • 18:00: Departure towards Lima.
  • 22:30: Approximate arrival in Lima (this may vary depending on traffic and other conditions).
FAQs

What other requirements must I meet to be part of this outing?

-We recommend having a minimum age of 14 years and a maximum age of 65 years to be able to carry out this Camping.

-For your safety, remember that to be part of this outing it is essential that you have good acclimatization to the altitude and that you are in good physical condition.

What important details should I know about the campsite?

About the Van you should know:

-The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, and you must return in the same seat in which you traveled at the beginning of the trip.

-In order to comply with the itinerary, the maximum tolerance to start the trip will be 15 minutes.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 72 hours before the start of the tour date and/or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 2 weeks in advance.

Should I bring any identity document during this outing?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry ID, Immigration Card or valid Passport during the realization of this camping.
