North of Lima lies the Ancash region, an incredible place that combines the culture of ancient Inca ancestors with the most beautiful mountains in Peru, such as Nevado Huascarán, the highest peak in our country (6,768 meters / 22,205 feet). On this journey, you will explore the city of Huaraz on a City Tour and visit the mysterious temple of Chavín de Huántar.

The best part about this package is that you get to choose your own outdoor adventures from these two options: Parón Lake (one of the most beautiful in the Huaylas Valley) or a visit to the Pastoruri Glacier (known as the Climate Change Route). To wrap up your experiences in this city, you can combine your visit to the Llanganuco Lake with the historic town of Yungay and the traditional pottery crafts of Taricá, or opt instead for a trek to Lake 69.

What will you discover on this Package?
  1. The Huaraz Main Square (Plaza de Armas), the “Augusto Soriano Infante” Ancash Archaeological Museum, the Pastorita Huaracina Boulevard. The Lord of Solitude Church and Plaza, the scenic Viewpoint and the Cross of Rataquenua.
  2. Querococha Lake, the Cahuish Tunnel, the City of Chavín de Huántar, the Chavín Archaeological Complex, and the Chavín National Museum.

To detail
In this 5-day and 4-night package, you will begin the first day with a traditional City Tour, on a walking tour through the center of Huaraz where you will visit the Main Square (Plaza de Armas), the “Augusto Soriano Infante” Ancash Archaeological Museum, the Pastorita Huaracina Boulevard, the sanctuary of the Lord of Solitude, and the historic José Olaya street (the only road that resisted the 1970 earthquake of 7.9 magnitude on the Richter scale), ending with a panoramic view from the Rataquenua Viewpoint.

On the second day, we will have a Full Day to Chavín de Huántar, which will take us on a journey to the Conchucos Valley, crossing the mystical Querococha Lake and the impressive Cahuish tunnel, to then descend to the ancient city of Chavín (Pre-Inca culture) and have a guided tour through its majestic Chavín de Huántar Archaeological Complex, where you will explore ancient underground passages and be able to appreciate the mysterious Lanzón Monolítico (sacred oracle), closing the day with free time to wander through its traditional streets and the Chavín National Museum.

For the third day, you will be able to choose between the Full Day Parón Lake or Full Day Pastoruri Glacier. The first option takes you north to the spectacular Parón Lake, at an altitude of 4,185 meters (13,730 feet), being the largest freshwater reservoir in the Cordillera Blanca. On the way, you will make a stop in Caraz, a city famous for its traditional sweets (such as manjar blanco and cuarteadas), you will visit its Main Square, and once you have arrived at the lake, you will be able to appreciate the imposing reflection of the Artesonraju, Garcilazo, and Caraz snowy peaks. In the second option, you will head south towards the Pastoruri Glacier at an altitude of 4,800 meters (15,748 feet); here you will also be able to see the Pumapashimi seven-color lagoon and the mystical forest of Puya Raimondi plants (which are part of the native flora of the Andes and can reach up to 14 meters in height); once in Pastoruri, you will go on an unforgettable hike along the edge of its imposing glacial ice walls.

For the fourth day, we offer you two types of experiences: cultural or adventure, both taking place in the northern part of the Huaylas Valley. For the cultural option, you will have the Full Day to Llanganuco Lake + the Yungay Memorial Park (here we will make some stops at the most popular districts of the Huaylas Valley, such as Caraz and Carhuaz), and if you decide to take the adventure option, you will have the Full Day to Lake 69 + Llanganuco Lake; on this route, you will be able to challenge your limits with a demanding and exciting trek from Cebollapampa to the spectacular Lake 69, a dazzling bright blue mirror of water at an altitude of 4,650 meters (15,256 feet), surrounded by the Chacraraju and Pisco snowy peaks.

Choose your favorite adventures and let yourself be captivated by the Cordillera Blanca.
