Imagine waking up to the sight of Huascarán Mountain and watching the first rays of sunlight paint its peak gold. On this tour to Radian Lake, you’ll witness the famous “mirror effect,” where Peru’s highest peak is perfectly reflected in the crystal-clear waters. It’s the perfect route if you’re looking for an easily accessible trek with breathtaking views, culminating in a magical night in glamping domes, surrounded by the absolute peace of the Cordillera Blanca and a starry sky that only high altitude can offer.

Our tour begins with passenger pick-up directly from their accommodations. We’ll then travel along the road to Wilcahuain, an important archaeological site of the Wari culture (a pre-Inca civilization). This site serves as the gateway to the Andes Mountains. After passing through this historical landmark, we’ll approach the start of the trek in the village of Recrish. At this point, passengers’ luggage will be sent directly back to their accommodations for a more comfortable journey.
From here, we’ll depart for the hiking trail towards Radian Lake. We’ll reach the shore where we can witness the famous mirror effect, a natural spectacle where the lake’s water is so still that it acts as a mirror, reflecting the snow-capped peaks of Huascaran (Peru’s highest mountain). During the hike, we’ll also see the Queñuales, unique trees with trunks that appear to be covered in paper leaves, and the Ichu, the yellow grass that adorns the Andean mountains. It’s the perfect setting to capture the best photos of the Cordillera Blanca.
After visiting the lake, you’ll head to the Glamping Domes for check-in and setup. Time will be allotted for lunch (not included). Afterward, you can enjoy the surroundings and have the afternoon and evening free to relax and appreciate the scenery.
The following day, after enjoying an included breakfast with views of the snow-capped peaks, you’ll begin your return to the city of Huaraz and be transferred to your accommodations, arriving at approximately 13:30. End of our services.
We recommend visiting the city of Huaraz between April and October, as these are the months when the weather is clearest, allowing you to enjoy trekking and hiking activities more comfortably and safely.
These are the most important details to keep in mind when staying at Glamping Domo:
At least 20 days before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to seat availability. If you’re from a neighboring country or anywhere else in the world, we recommend booking at least 30 days in advance, or two month if the date you arrive is high season in Huaraz.
