Ica – Full Day to The Canyon of The Lost from Ica

The Lost Canyon is located in the District of Santiago, almost on the border with the District of Changuillo in Nazca, 40 km from the town of Ocucaje.

It was discovered in 2011, baptized with that name given to an anecdote that happened to authorities from the city of Ica when they went to visit it. Two caravans left, one of them arrived and the other was lost in the desert, but then they managed to find the place and that is how the name stayed.

The Full Day starts very early in the morning, so we must be ready when we are picked up from our accommodation. We will go to Ocucaje where we will be able to acquire the last provisions for breakfast and the rest of the Full Day, then we will continue with our trip to the desert of Santiago.

The canyon has a depth of 117 to 120 meters and consists of 4 levels. During the tour we will be able to appreciate different rock formations, fossils of animals that inhabited this area millions of years ago, in addition to exploring its flora and fauna.
