To detail
The program will also allow you to explore the nature of this destination, which is filled with cloud forests and different microclimates. Here, you can appreciate wildlife such as the marvelous spatuletail hummingbird, the spectacled bear, and the yellow-tailed woolly monkey. Some of these animals are currently endangered. Come and discover all the magic and charm of this beautiful northeastern region of Peru!

The first day of your itinerary is designed to give you the perfect welcome with a City Tour of the city of Chachapoyas and an unmissable visit to its two most beautiful viewpoints: the Sonche Canyon Viewpoint, where you will gaze at a gigantic, deep abyss between mountains, and the Huanca Urco Viewpoint, ideal for enjoying an impressive view of the local valleys and rivers. You will finish with a free afternoon to acclimate in complete peace.

On the second day, we will start with a Full Day tour to the imposing Fortified Citadel of Kuélap, the star attraction of the region. It will surprise you with its gigantic circular stone walls hidden among the Andean vegetation, before returning to the city in the late afternoon or evening to rest (this is where you will have the opportunity to go up to the top of the fortress using Peru‘s first cable car system).

On the third day, you will discover the most enigmatic side of the “Chachapoyas” (pre-Inca culture) on a double excursion. First, it will take you to the Sarcophagi of Karajía to admire colossal pre-Inca funerary statues looking out into the void from the top of a cliff. Then, you will continue the adventure by venturing into the Quiocta Cavern, an underground cave filled with incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations.

On the fourth day, the itinerary changes completely, taking you into nature on a beautiful hike toward the majestic Gocta Waterfall (located in the village of Cocachimba). There, you will see one of the highest waterfalls in the world surrounded by a dense jungle. It is the ideal setting to disconnect from everything, enjoy the green landscape, search for the marvelous spatuletail hummingbird, and encounter the native flora and fauna.

The fifth day will begin with a good breakfast at the hotel. Then, you can enjoy the morning at your own pace to walk around the city, take your last photos, and choose your favorite souvenirs before we pick you up to take you to the airport.
