To detail

The activity will begin very early in the morning, where you will be picked up from the comfort of your hotel to begin this journey. Your first destination will be the town of Pampa de Arrieros, which has a very important train station for travelers arriving by train to the beautiful White City. You will make a stop in Pampa Cañahuas, where you will see vicuñas behind the Misti Volcano. You will then arrive at Patahuasi, where you can have breakfast or drink Andean mates to acclimatize; here you will also be able to see the famous Patahuasi Castles. You should then pack warm clothing, as the altitude (4,000 meters above sea level) makes the weather cold. At 10:30, our expedition will begin to reach the Puruña stone Forest, also known as “Imata,” whose geological formations of water-eroded rock offer an out-of-this-world landscape.

You’ll then return to your vehicle and continue toward the Pillones Waterfall. You’ll carefully descend a rocky slope and walk along the side of a river before reaching the beautiful waterfall (you can also see it from above), where you can take all the photos you want during our 40 minute stay. You’ll then head to the Pillones Annex to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Arequipa city to conclude the tour at approximately 17:00, where you’ll be dropped off a few blocks from the Plaza Mayor.
