The best time to do this trekking route is the dry season, which begins in April and ends in October. During these months the presence of rain will be almost null, making the path much easier to follow.

What recommendations would you give us if it is our first time traveling to Cusco?

Definitely one of the most important things to do before traveling to Cusco for the first time is to check how the weather forecast will be during your stay, Cusco can be a very cold city, like very sunny during the day, so You have to be prepared for everything.
