To detail

Our private Full Day starts very early in the morning, where our transfer will pick you up from the comfort of your accommodation, then you will have to board the PeruRail Bus and Train service, to continue on a trip of approximately 2 to 3 hours. Upon your arrival at the town of Aguas Calientes (starting point of the visit to Machu Picchu), our private guide will already be waiting for you, who will accompany you throughout the journey to the Llacta or city of Machu Picchu.

Once the visit is over, we will return to the town to have a typical lunch and finally be able to return to the city of Cusco at sunset.

  • Location: Urubamba, Department of Cusco, Peru.
  • Distance from Lima to Cusco by plane: 42 minutes. By Bus: 22 hours approx.
  • Distance from the city of Cusco to Aguas Calientes by Train: 4 hours.
  • Distance from Aguas Calientes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu: 30 minutes.
  • Maximum height in Machu Picchu: 2439 meters of altitude (8001 feet).
  • IMPORTANT: Have good acclimatization to the altitude.
  • Climate: Cold temperate. Average annual temperature 11ºC (51.8 °F).
  • Low season: from December to February (rainy season).
  • High season: from April to November (adding June 22, July and August).

Day 1Description of the activities

  • 04:30: Pickup from your hotel to Wanchaq Station.
  • 05:10: Departure by bus to Ollantaytambo Train Station.
  • 07:10: Transfer to the PeruRail train (of your choice) to Aguas Calientes.
  • 09:15: Arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes.
  • 10:00: Board the CONSETTUR bus to Machu Picchu (approximate time).
  • 11:00 AM: Start of the Machu Picchu tour (approximate time).
  • 13:30 PM: End of the Machu Picchu tour and return to Aguas Calientes.
  • 14:00: Free time for lunch (not included) and souvenir shopping.
  • 18:20: Departure by train to PeruRail’s Ollantaytambo Station (please be at the station 40 minutes early).
  • 20:15: Transfer to the PeruRail bus bound for Cusco.
  • 22:30: Arrival at Wanchaq Station in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

What is the best time to go to Cusco?

Cusco can be visited throughout the year, but if you want to travel in the best season, we recommend you go between the months of April to October, because the probability of rain during those months is low, making the mountains look more majestic and with a lot of sunlight.

What important details should I know about the Full Day?

The Full Day is offered in a private service, that is, the guidance is solely and exclusively for passengers who take this program. With the exception of the transfers by train and by Tourist Bus to Machu Picchu that are detailed below:

-TREN TO AGUAS CALIENTES: The location of the seats within this service is reflected in the ticket that will be sent to you electronically at the time of purchase of the package.

-TURISTIC BUS TO MACHU PICCHU: The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, having to return in the same seat in which you traveled when the tour began. In order to comply with the itinerary, you are requested to be very attentive at the time of boarding, to be able to comply with the departure and return times.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 15 days before the start of Full Day and/or subject to space availability (only if you are already in Cusco). But if you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 30 days in advance or 2 months if the date you arrive is in high season in Cusco.

Do I have to carry an identity document during the Full Day?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid ID, Immigration Card or Passport during this Tour.
