FAQs

What is the best season to do this trekking?

The best time to do this trekking route is the dry season, which begins in April and ends in October. During these months the presence of rain will be almost nil, making the path much easier to follow.

What recommendations would you give us if it is our first time traveling to Cusco?

Definitely one of the most important things to do before traveling to Cusco for the first time is to check how the weather forecast will be during your stay, Cusco can be a very cold city, like very sunny during the day, so You have to be prepared for everything.

The second thing is definitely to try to do not very demanding activities the first day, to get acclimatized and get used to the altitude, if not. We advise you to drink coca tea, drink plenty of liquids and also eat as lightly as possible (digestion here is usually a little slower than normal).

  • The trekking to the Archaeological Park of Choquequirao has a difficulty level 4, the same one that requires a lot of physical effort to carry out this walk, for this reason the passenger is required to be in optimal physical condition. This route IS NOT SUITABLE for sedentary, acrophobic, or cardiac people.
  • It should be noted that each camp has Wi-Fi services (and this has a cost).
  • The Marampata camp has showers with hot water, since this place is close to 3000 meters above sea level, the cost is S/10 soles per person.
  • Our trip itinerary may change due to weather factors and depending on the resistance of the passenger.

How far in advance can I make a reservation?

At least 20 days before the scheduled travel date and/or subject to space availability. If you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 30 days in advance or 2 months if the date you arrive is in high season in Cusco.
