These beautiful mountains are located in the Cusipata District, approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes from Cusco City. The hiking to reach it has a maximum altitude of 5036 meters. On your way you will also be able to appreciate one of the most beautiful snow-capped mountains in Peru and the 5th highest in the country (6385 meters above sea level), called the Ausangate mountain.

  • Location: Cusipata, Quispicanchi, and Pitumarca, Province of Canchis, Department of Cusco, Peru.
  • Distance from Cusco city to Pitumarca (starting point of the trek) by Van: 2 hours.
  • Walking Time: 4 hours approx. 5 kilometers round trip.
  • Maximum altitude in Vinicunca: 5036 meters of altitude.
  • IMPORTANT: Have good acclimatization to the altitude.
  • Climate: Maximum temperature 19º C.
  • Low season: from December to February (rainy season).

What is the best time to go to the Rainbow Mountain?

You can go to the 7 colors mountain all year round, but if you want to visit it at the best time, we recommend you go between the months of April to October, because the probability of rain and even snow during those months is low. With this lever you can easily appreciate the colored lines that are produced thanks to the minerals that exist in these mountains.

What important details should I know about the Full Day?

About the Van you should know:

-In order to comply with the itinerary, the maximum tolerance to start the trip will be 15 minutes.

-The mobility seats will be occupied according to the order of arrival, and you must return in the same seat in which you traveled at the start of the tour.

How long in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 48 hours before the start of the tour and / or subject to availability of places (only if you are already in Cusco). But if you are from a neighboring country or from any other part of the world, we recommend you book at least 30 days in advance or 2 months if the date you arrive is high season in Cusco.

Do I have to carry an identity document during the tour?

Yes, it is essential that all participants carry a valid ID, Immigration Card or Passport during the tour, since the entrance tickets can only be purchased physically on the same day of the tour and presenting the document at the ticket office of the attractive to visit.
