The adventure begins from the location of Huacachina itself, once you arrive at the meeting point, be sure to keep everything you bring in your pockets, to avoid losing anything important during the walk, if you like, If you like, wear a scarf to avoid eating some sand.   • Huacachina Desert, Ica Department.
  • Distance from Lima to Huacachina, Ica: 3 hours and 30 minutes approximately.
  • Distance from Paracas to Ica: 2 hours approx.
  • Maximum altitude in Ica: 406 meters above sea level.
  • Climate: Dry and sunny. Average annual temperature 22ºC.
  • SUITABLE for children from 6 years old (Specifically for the ride in the sand pits and as long as they are accompanied by an adult).
  • IMPORTANT: Not suitable for people with heart problems or pregnant women.
  • Meeting Time and Point: 15 minutes before your chosen tour. Entrance to Huacachina.
  • Tour duration: 1 hour. Sunset time (1 hour and 30 minutes).

¿What is the best time to visit this destination?

The Huacachina Desert is located within the Department of Ica, this destination always enjoys the sun, so you can visit it any month of the year without any problem. 

If you’re traveling with children, remember that to ride in the sand wagons, they must be accompanied by an adult. This tour is not recommended for pregnant women.

¿What important details should I know about Buggies?

The buggy can be shared with other guests up to the maximum capacity of the sand pit. We have buggies for 6, 9, and up to 12 people traveling together during the tour. If you would like to take the tour in a private buggy, don’t forget to contact us for a quote.

¿How far in advance can I make a reservation?

Maximum up to 24 hours before from the start of the tour and/or subject to availability (only if you are in Lima). But if you’re from a neighboring country or anywhere else in the world, we recommend booking at least 72 hours in advance.

¿Do I need to carry any identification during the buggy ride?

Yes, it is necessary to at least show your ID in a photograph, to be able to board the Buggie, in order to identify the participants, anyway, don’t forget to check out the full T&Cs here Terms and Conditions.
